Airways must be replaced according to instructions to remove any chance of bacteria growth and contamination. Use household cleaners like soap and water, 409, Fantastic, or others to remove dirt and grime from the manikins.

Why don’t my Heart Start 911 or Model 3000 patient electrodes work with the Laerdal adapters supplied with the Simulaids ECG simulator?

Laerdal adapters function only with Heart Stream models. Heart Start models will not work. There is a translation cable from R2 to Heart Start snaps available from: R2 Medical Systems, Division of Ballard Medical, Draper, UT. 801-572-6800

I’ve lost my product instructions. How can I replace them?

How can I arrange to have a manikin demonstrated at our department?

Contact your normal EMS products distributor. All of the major national businesses carry our line. Their representative in your area can arrange a demo.

My unit is not functioning. How do I get it repaired?

All product returns must be authorized by the customer service department of the distributor through whom you purchased the item. Please call them and request a return authorization number. Be sure that number is clearly labeled on the outside of your package. Also, include within the return box a detailed description of the problem you are having.

How can I save money and cleaning problems when practicing defibrillation scenarios?

The hardwired (R-2 style) electrodes can be replaced with Simulaids’ training cables. These cables are made with specific defibrillator manufacturer’s connector plugs and Simulaids’ adapter post connectors. Using these cables and adapters eliminates the cost of replacing the R-2 style leads and totally eliminates cleaning. It will also give you positive connection, and eliminate faulty readings by the defibrillator.

What replacement parts are available for Rescue Randy? Prices?

The parts you can replace in the field are limited to the extremities. Parts vary according to weight and style of the manikin. Call 800-431-4310 for quotes. The factory also replaces and repairs these manikins. You must call for a return authorization for repairs.

Is there a way to make clean up easier when I’m using stick-on electrode pads on the manikins?

Yes! Use an automotive paste wax like Turtle Wax on the areas of the vinyl skin where the pads are to be placed. The pads will peel off easier, too.

What is the difference between IAFF Randy, Item #1475 and Item #1435?

The IAFF Randy, 1475, has a reinforced, replaceable, butt patch to protect the manikin during dragging exercises in tunnels and confined spaces.
