responding to a multiple injury automobile accident demonstrate primary
assessment, including the ABCs of basic life support; and secondary
assessment, a quick, careful head-to-toe check of the patient.
Additional sequences include treatment of open chest wounds, burns, and
shock. Emphasis is placed on the importance of communication with
